Cautions & Contraindications: Compared to ThyroCare, Thyroid Px contains much more elemental iodine (12,000 mcg vs. 200mcg, respectively). Therefore, Thyroid Px is not recommended in situations where Iodine supplementation is not indicated or tolerated. Ingestion of iodine and/or iodide has been associated with heart palpitations, acne-like skin lesions, headache in the frontal sinus cavities, unpleasant brassy taste, and increased salivation and sneezing. Some sensitive individuals may not tolerate high levels, even when medically necessary. Iodine supplementation indirectly stimulates TSH production which increases the absorption of Iodine into the thyroid gland. While Thyroid Px may cause a transient increase of TSH, it simultaneously maintains healthy thyroid hormone levels in most patients. High doses of iodine, administered in a small subsection of patients with Hashimoto's Disease, have been found to potentially aggravate the disease. In these cases where T4 levels drop, discontinue use. Thyroid Px is not a replacement for thyroid hormone therapy. Wean within 6 months to 1 capsule per day or switch to ThyroCare to not exceed iodine consumption.

Suggested Use
1 to 2 vegi-capsules twice daily, with or without food, or as recommended by your health care practitioner. When increasing dose, do so gradually to a maximum dose of 4 capsules, twice daily. Never take high doses for more than 3 months. It is recommended to have your thyroid panel (TSH, FT3, FT4, TPO antibodies) tested regularly if taking this product.r.
